C4R-Care for Rubber

There are two main methods – dry and wet. Dry care is simply to apply powder the inside of the rubber part thinly with baby powder or talcum powder. Powdering also helps to prevent rubber from sticking during prolonged storage.

The wet care method also gives the material its hot shine. Simply spray on a thin layer of rubber spray. Or apply a thin layer of silicone-based lubricant (e.g. eros or rude rider) on the outside and inside and wipe off the excess with a cloth. This cloth must be particularly soft. This is important, and be careful not to scratch the rubber. Never use anything greasy like baby oil. This can soften and destroy latex.

Over long times, UV radiation from sunlight also damages the latex. Latex also reacts sensitively with metal, especially aluminium. This can lead to discolouration.

You should wash your rubber clothes immediately after wearing them. Add a little washing-up liquid to warm (not hot) water – or shampoo if you’re in the shower anyway. Then allow to dry properly and hang on a hanger, do not fold or press.

Our tip: If you are looking for a universal care product for your expensive latex: here it is! C4R is developed with the aim of maintaining the rubber shine and caring for it at the same time. It is an especially thin silicone oil that forms a fine film on every rubber surface and thus both seals its surface and ensures a horny shine.

The application is very easy: put a teaspoon of C4R in a bucket with 4 litres of hand-hot water, stir briefly and you’re done. You only need to dip your rubber (after washing it with hand warm water and a little washing-up liquid) into the water and stir it a little so that the entire surface comes into contact with C4R. Then let the rubber drip off (if you want to do it quickly, dab it with a towel) and dry in an airy place. The rubber should not stick to each other. After drying, it shines like new!

C4R as a donning aid: Instead of a teaspoon, use a tablespoonful for the treatment. This way, excess silicone droplets will stick to the material and you can slip into it wonderfully. Afterwards, dab dry any excess silicone and water from the outside and you’re ready to party.
